Council staff recommends transferring lobbying contract to Columbia Policy Advisors LLC

Beginning May 1, Josh Weiss will be providing governmental relation services through his own company, Columbia Policy Advisors LLC.” Martin said Gordon Thomas Honeywell has agreed to facilitate the transfer.
Martin said the existing contract expires July 31, 2025, and allows for a one-year extension. The committee took no final vote on the contract transfer at the April 8 meeting; Chair Dunne asked if there were any objections to moving the item to consent at the April 16 General Legislative Session (GLS), and none were raised. The committee therefore directed that the item go to the April 16 consent calendar for consideration.
No mover or seconder was recorded in the committee discussion, and no formal committee vote on final approval was taken during the April 8 meeting. The committee record shows the item as being forwarded to GLS/consent for action by the full council.
The transfer would change the county’s named contractor for state government relations to Columbia Policy Advisors LLC effective May 1, subject to the full council’s consent and any provisions in the underlying contract governing assignment and consent.
