Council honors corrections and law-enforcement employees and recognizes National Nurses Week

The Snohomish County Council voted 5-0 on May 7 to adopt a resolution honoring employees of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and designating May 2025 as National Correctional Officers and Employees Week and National Law Enforcement Officers Week in the county.
Council member Low said she brings the resolution annually to recognize the work of law enforcement and corrections staff in the county and praised the professionalism of the employees and the sheriff. "I usually put it forward each year to make sure that we recognize our law enforcement and correctional officers," Low said.
Chair Nering thanked Low for introducing the resolution and for Sheriff Johnson’s attendance; the council recessed briefly afterward for a photo. The motion to approve Resolution 25-019 was moved and seconded, and the council approved by voice vote, with the chair recording a 5-0 vote.
Separately, the council also approved Resolution 25-020 recognizing May 2025 as National Nurses Week in Snohomish County. That resolution was moved and seconded, and the council approved it by voice vote with no dissent.
Ending: Both resolutions were approved by unanimous voice votes; no further action or debate occurred in the general session.
