County to accept up to $70,300 from AOC to reimburse pro tem judge costs for protection orders

Snohomish County staff told the Community Safety and Justice Committee on May 13 that the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) will reimburse the county's Superior Court for costs related to pro tem judges in civil protection order hearings. Nicole Gourley, council staff, said Motion 25-218 would approve a grant agreement under which the AOC will reimburse Superior Court for up to $70,300.
Gourley provided the reimbursement period in the staff report as Oct. 21, 2024, through June 30, 2025. The requested action before the committee was to move the motion to GLS on May 21 for consideration and placement on the consent agenda.
Committee members raised no substantive questions during the briefing. The committee moved the motion to GLS for May 21 without objection. Final acceptance of the grant and any reimbursement will follow GLS and council action as required by county process.
