Heidi Bizzizzo, Snohomish County chief of staff, told the council on Feb. 25 that the 2024 state legislature provided funding to the Department of Natural Resources for the National Climate Solutions program and that the Board of Natural Resources will consider nominated parcels for funding on March 4, 2025. Bizzizzo said the county received a recommendation for a parcel on Feb. 13 and staff are drafting a nomination letter for the council’s review at the Governmental and Legislative Services committee meeting the following day.
Bizzizzo also reported the county auditor’s office is preparing candidate filing dates in May for the Charter Review Commission; interested and eligible parties will be able to file during those dates, she said. She added that council meetings scheduled for the following week are canceled because county representatives will attend the National Association of Counties conference.
No substantive questions were recorded during the administrative session on these items; the announcements were informational staff reports rather than actions requiring council votes.
