The Village Board of Commissioners of Ridgefield Park voted to adopt on first reading Ordinance 2025-02, a redevelopment plan for the Mount Vernon Street area, during its Jan. 23 caucus meeting.
Commissioner William G. Gerken moved that the ordinance be given its first reading and adopted on first reading, with publication in the Record newspaper and posting on the municipal bulletin board. Commissioner John H. Anlian seconded the motion. On roll call, Commissioners Anlian, Gerken, Wanda C. Portorreal and Mayor Adam MacNeill voted “Yea.” Commissioner Mirza was absent. The board scheduled a public hearing on the ordinance for Feb. 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
Adoption on first reading does not finalize the ordinance; the hearing will allow public comment before any final action. The board directed the Village Clerk to publish and post the ordinance as required. No additional details of the redevelopment plan were discussed in the caucus minutes.
The ordinance was entered on the agenda as item 2025-02 and will return for public hearing and possible final adoption on Feb. 6, 2025.
