Accomack students honored: Beta Club winners, athletic milestones and state qualifiers recognized

The Accomack County School Board recognized students from several schools for Beta Club achievements, state championships and athletic milestones.
Board members introduced student groups from Arcadia High School, Nandua High School, Arcadia Middle School, Chincoteague and other schools. Speakers listed state convention placements across academic, performing and visual-arts categories; dozens of students were named as state champions or qualified for national competition. A large delegation from one school reported 61 state champions and 26 categories qualified at the Virginia State Convention; several students were identified as state leadership representatives.
Individual recognitions included a local athlete reaching 1,000 career points in boys basketball and members of the swim team who qualified for all-state honors and contributed to high state meet scores. Cheer, performing arts and special recognition categories were also mentioned.
School staff and sponsors thanked the board for logistical support, including transportation help that reduced program costs. The board praised students and staff, and several board members urged the community to celebrate the students’ accomplishments.
No formal board action was taken; the recognitions were ceremonial and intended to highlight student achievement.
