Amanda Parsons, director of Parks and Recreation, told the Cemetery Advisory Board staff are developing a cleanup or "sweep" program to enforce existing cemetery ordinances and restore consistent maintenance.
Parsons and Chip Egger said the city has allowed noncompliant ornamentation and encroachment to accumulate over time, which now hinders mowing, weed control and safe operations. "We have placed ourselves in a position over time where we have not enforced ordinance regulations, which has led us to this," Parsons said.
