The Harrisonville Board of Aldermen on an evening meeting approved minutes from multiple prior meetings and passed a resolution authorizing the City Administrator to waive inspection and permitting fees for rehabilitation projects at 105, 107 and 109 South Lexington Street.
The board unanimously approved the regular meeting minutes of Jan. 6, 2025, and the Board of Aldermen work session minutes of Jan. 6, 2025. The board also approved closed-session minutes from Jan. 6, 2025, and Dec. 2, 2024; Alderman Turner recorded an abstention on at least one set of closed-session minutes, and Alderman Milner was recorded as excused for roll-call votes.
In a separate vote, the board approved council bill 03; following the motion and roll call the measure became Resolution 2025-03 authorizing the City Administrator to waive inspection and permitting fees in excess of the city’s incurred costs for rehabilitation work at the three South Lexington Street addresses. The resolution had a roll-call vote in which Aldermen Fouch, Mills, Doerhoff, Chaney, Davidson, Franklin and Turner voted in favor and Alderman Milner was excused.
Several other items were advanced to a future meeting for reading or further consideration, including changes to zoning code language related to hours of operation for marijuana facilities (council bill 04), a special-use permit for contractor yard/vehicle storage (council bill 05), and a rezoning and preliminary development plan for property at 307 East South Street (council bill 06). Those items were not decided tonight and are scheduled to return for formal readings at the board’s Feb. 3 meeting.
