The City of Broussard council on May 13 approved acceptance of an act of dedication from Saint Etienne LLC to correct a subdivision plat and add right-of-way to the city’s records.
City staff said the parcel sits within a U-shaped area and that the property owner granted any roadway right-of-way used by the public; staff characterized the action as routine bookkeeping to align ownership and road-rights with modern standards.
Walter said the act is largely administrative: “Whatever's in the road right away, they're granting to us, and that's what you're accepting tonight. It's already in public use. It's been in public use for a long, long time.” Steven, who identified himself as the owner’s representative, agreed in remarks about the intended future use.
Council members asked routine questions; there was no public comment, and the motion to accept the dedication carried.
