Board approves contract amendment with Francis & Company for accounting services through competitive contract

The King County Flood Control District Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to authorize the chair to enter into an amendment to the district's contract for accounting services with Francis & Company PLLC.
District staff said Francis & Company was selected through a competitive process in 2023 and the original contract term included one year plus three one-year extension options. The board-approved amendment continues accounting and financial management services, including general ledger maintenance, monthly financial statements for operating and capital budgets, year-end financial statement preparation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and support for audits by the Washington State Auditor.
The staff report said the amendment amount is not to exceed $200,000 and that approval is consistent with district procedural policies. Staff emphasized the action is administrative and does not impact the district's adopted 2025 budget.
Supervisor Deshaun Quinn moved the motion; the clerk called a roll and the board recorded nine ayes and zero nos. The chair announced the motion FCD 20 five-two was adopted.
