Culpeper supervisors adopt resolution opposing two state bills that would limit local regulation of solar facilities

County Administrator Sam McLaren introduced the item and said Supervisor Gugino brought the matter to the board's attention. McLaren described the bills as proposals that "limit local plan use authority" and would affect how counties regulate solar facilities.
Supervisor Gugino noted other rural localities have passed similar resolutions and urged the board to forward Culpeper's position to state representatives. After brief discussion the board voted to adopt the resolution, and staff said they will transmit the board's opposition to lawmakers.
