He reported that a seismic rehabilitation project at Silvercrest is scheduled to begin June 2 with storage containers and on‑site staging already in place; the contractor found missing footings during preliminary exploration and added foundations, and the project remains on schedule for substantial completion in August so the building can be ready for the next school year.
Jeff also described ongoing water testing required by the state for seven district well systems, including VOCs/SOCs this season and a planned PFAS baseline test later in the year (state‑shipped tests expected in August). He said the arsenic mitigation system at one site (BP/Blanton?) is working and is monitored monthly.
Jeff thanked community donors and the Fox Foundation for a quick, volunteer‑led upgrade of an old gravel lot, adding pavement, striping and lighting; he said the lighting has improved perceived safety and the surface reconfiguration was a "game changer" for student activities. He noted other maintenance work in planning: a kitchen hood repair at Robert Frost, parking lot striping at outlying schools, and relocation of the pre‑K program to Robert Frost.
