Fisher said vandalism has affected parks in every quadrant of the city, from graffiti that staff now paint over daily to theft of copper wiring and repeated break-ins of riverfront decorative light poles. “On the riverfront, we have 384 decorative light poles. Of those, 143 have been vandalized,” he said, adding that repairs for riverfront lights alone have cost $72,075 since January 2024 through a city contract.
