Warrenton aldermen approve liquor license, grievance-policy change and budget amendment; fund tourism sign

Warrenton — The Warrenton Board of Aldermen on April 1 approved a package liquor license for Moser's, an amendment to the municipal grievance policy and a midyear budget amendment, and authorized a $600 tourism sign for a Dairy Queen off Interstate 70.

The approvals came by roll call votes during the regularly scheduled meeting at the Warrenton annex. City Administrator Brandy Walters said the grievance-policy change simply aligns an internal title with current practice: “All we're doing is changing it to practice. Currently we use human resources instead of director of operations,” Walters said, explaining the edit replaces an older title with the city’s human-resources role.

The budget amendment before the board adjusts current-year projections and reserves after identified spend and revenue variances. Finance Officer Megan Welder told the board the general fund is about $19,000 over projection largely because of pool-related receipts (about $11,000) and trash revenue (about $5,000).
