The Warrenton Board of Aldermen voted May 6 to award a contract for repairs to three well houses to CV Contractors for $81,860. The work includes tuckpointing, roofing, flashing and construction of a building over a generator at one well house.
Director of Operations John Strukoff told the board the bid covers repairs at three well houses (identified in the discussion as Well Nos. 6, 7 and 8). “We're recommending to go with CV Contractors, which is the best bid, in amount of $81,860,” Strukoff said. He estimated the work would take “a couple months” to complete and said the contractor would manage the smaller scope items.
Board members asked whether the repairs would require taking any facilities out of service; Strukoff said no. The board approved the award by roll call, 5–0 with one member absent.
The city recorded no additional conditions or amendments to the award during the meeting.
