Board approves Boonslick Road sidewalk rehab contract with Sweetens Concrete

The Warrenton Board of Aldermen on May 6 authorized the city to execute a construction contract with Sweetens Concrete Services LLC for the Boonslick Road sidewalk rehabilitation Phase 2 project. The board approved the ordinance by roll call, 5–0 with one member absent.
Director of Operations John Strukoff said the city received four bids for the Phase 2 sidewalk upgrades and that Sweetens Concrete Services submitted the low bid. “We had… four bids, and Sweetens Concrete Services was the low bid. We did reference checks and everything and we're proposing… to use Sweeten Concrete Services for this project,” Strukoff said.
The board moved the ordinance identified in the meeting as Bill No. 22-25 and later recorded a 5–0 vote with one member absent. Strukoff said the project is slated to begin in the next couple of weeks and should be finished before the fall festival, and the city requested monthly updates until completion.
No contract amount was announced in the public meeting minutes. The board did not record any amendments or conditions tied to the award during the session.
