Clayton Community Foundation outlines projects, pushes operating endowment and Hanley House restoration

Alex, executive director of the Clayton Community Foundation, told the Clayton Board of Aldermen on Jan. 28 that the foundation will prioritize securing an operating endowment and increasing household donors while continuing support for public‑art, parks and historic‑site projects across the city.

The foundation outlined a portfolio of projects and fundraising goals that include public art on Wydown Boulevard, traffic‑signal box artwork, a $100,000 matching campaign for Hanley House, Century Home plaques, Remembrance Park amenities and recognition signage for a recently completed Shaw Park splash pad. Alex said CCF currently reaches roughly 5% of Clayton donor households and called that number “a little bit small,” adding, “I’d like it to be 50%.”
