Atlantic County commissioners approve series of grants, contracts and appointments during Thursday meeting

The Atlantic County Board of Commissioners on Thursday moved and approved a group of routine resolutions, including grant acceptances, contract awards, change orders, appointments and an emergency contract for medical transportation.

Among the measures approved were a grant acceptance for the county prosecutor’s insurance-fraud reimbursement program (resolution 94), participation in the Governor’s Council municipal alliance program for prevention of drug and alcohol abuse (95), acceptance of federal State Criminal Alien Assistance Program funds (96), and an award for addiction recovery services to Angels in Motion, NJ (99).

Several construction and maintenance contracts and change orders were approved, including a masonry maintenance contract with Ocean Construction Inc. (resolution 102, amount not to exceed $62,400), extension-only change orders with South State Inc. for the 2022 drainage improvement project and the Estelle Manor Park entrance paving project (resolutions 104 and 105), and a change order increasing the 2022 County Highway Improvement Program contract with Arawak Haven Co., Inc. by $353,580.73 (resolution 106).

Other approvals included a lease with the Center for Family Services for county-owned premises in Northfield (resolution 107, amount not to exceed $68,400), acceptance of deeds and easements under county planning standards (108), a no-cost agreement for Atlantic City law enforcement use of the county police training center (109), and a cooperative agreement for child support services reimbursement (110, amount not to exceed $150,724.75).

The board also approved an emergency contract with Tricare Medical Transportation to provide medical transportation for Meadowview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center residents (resolution 112, amount not to exceed $50,650), an amendment adding $13,000 to an existing alternate-method contract with S Scribe Inc. (resolution 113), project-management services under the WorkFirst New Jersey program (114, amount not to exceed $50,000), and a contract with Atlantic Coast Moving and Storage for election equipment transport (115, amount not to exceed $85,360). The board confirmed an appointment of Nelson Dilge to the Atlantic County Human Services Advisory Council (resolution 116) and granted consent for a Police Unity Tour roadway solicitation event on March 8, 2025 (resolution 117).

Commissioner-sponsored resolutions included a measure supporting publishing legal notices on official government websites (resolution 118) and the board authorized a closed executive session for pending or anticipated litigation, contract negotiations and privileged attorney-client communications (resolution 119). Resolution 103 was withdrawn during the meeting.
