Council approves event permits, awards Molly Brown contract and adopts resolutions on Grand Avenue and city finances

The Hannibal City Council, meeting April 1, 2025, approved several motions and resolutions by voice vote, including permitting a community event, awarding a construction bid for the Molly Brown home entrance and adopting resolutions to address a failing retaining wall and to authorize an amount of $103,195 referenced in the packet.

Wine Men's Club event permit: The council approved use of a pavilion and requested street closures for the Wine Men's Club’s events, contingent on proof of insurance. The club’s representative, Scott Bamer, said the club’s Down by the River fundraiser is scheduled for May 16 and that a mud-volleyball event is planned for early July. A motion to approve the request pending appropriate insurance was made and the council approved it by voice vote.
