City staff told the Hannibal City Council on March 18 that the city earned a perfect score on its most recent annual loss‑prevention evaluation conducted by MIRMA, the city’s insurance pool.
“We did receive a 100% perfect, achieving 1,250 points out of the possible 1,250 points,” a staff member reported, calling the result “a pretty good accomplishment for a city our size.”
The presenter credited a range of employees, department heads and the city’s safety coordinator, Britta Dooley, for compiling records and meeting training and inspection requirements. The staff member said MIRMA’s evaluations review vehicle inspections, drug testing, safety training, park maintenance and other operational controls.
Staff told the council that MIRMA returns each January to evaluate the previous calendar year’s activities; the presenter said the city’s insurance premiums for the coming year are influenced by the most recent evaluation and that the perfect score should positively affect the city’s insurance assessment.
Councilors congratulated staff and asked that employees involved receive recognition for the work.
No formal action was required or taken; the item was presented as informational.
