The Dodge City USD 443 Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a five‑year renewal with FastBridge to provide the district's required screening platform, beginning July 1.
District staff told the board the FastBridge platform is one of seven state‑recommended screening tools and noted the state previously used ESSER funds to subsidize costs. The staff presentation said the district currently pays $4 per student and that the multi‑year contract locks that price; the representative recommended approval of a $136,460 payment from the district’s textbook and software line.
“Through this multi year contract, [we were able] to lock in at $4 a student per year for each of the 5 years,” the staff presentation said, noting that open‑market pricing today would be nearly $11 per student. The presentation added that the savings to the district next year would be “about 64%” compared with current market pricing.
Board members made a motion and second; the board voice vote was recorded as 6‑0 in favor. No amendments were proposed during the motion.
The FastBridge item followed staff comments and data presentations about instructional coaching and assessment practice. The board packet noted the contract will be paid from the district’s textbook/software budget line.
The vote authorizes staff to execute the five‑year contract and to proceed with vendor onboarding; the district did not record any separate follow‑up tasks or conditions attached to the approval during the meeting.
