Sunny Isles Beach commission directs staff to study structured parking partnership for RK plazas

The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach asked staff on Oct. 12, 2025 to prepare a detailed analysis of possible parking solutions and incentive structures to relieve long-standing parking shortages at the RK commercial plazas in Town Center North.
Consultants from Complete Cities presented parking and circulation as a near-term leverage point that could enable other improvements in aesthetics, pedestrian spaces and drainage. The consultants said solving the parking problem “opens the door” for plaza beautification and new pedestrian amenities while also creating opportunities for shared city spaces such as beach parking or a rooftop park.
