Park County OKs equipment-storage lease for utility repairs in Fairplay

County staff described the repair as involving replacement of several power poles and said the outage was expected to last about eight to nine hours. The lease would permit Hooper Corporation to store equipment at the county site to support the repair work. County officials also noted Xcel’s service boundary ends near Fairplay and that most county electrical service is provided by another utility service in the area.
The board approved the lease agreement by a 3-0 vote during the consent portion of the meeting.
What happened next: The BOCC approved the lease; staff will coordinate with Hooper Corporation and Xcel Energy for the May 28 repair and staging use of county facilities.
