Worcester license panel approves series of one‑day permits, business transfers and new rules

Chair Anthony Vigliotti opened the Worcester License Commission meeting on May 1 and the panel approved a large group of temporary liquor and entertainment permits, several change‑of‑ownership transfers and an update to the commission’s on‑premise/off‑premise rules.

The approvals covered annual community events and recurring series across the city. Candace Casey, representing the Worcester Center for Crafts, said the center will hold its annual HUT NIGHT IN THE CITY gallery opening on July 10 and a larger outdoor event the following week; Casey estimated roughly 60 people for the July 10 opening and up to about 600 for the July 18 event and said both events will use TIP‑certified servers. "We have an event, an annual event called HUT NIGHT IN THE CITY," Casey told the commission.
