Marshall City Council: agenda, minutes, grounds bids and appropriation ordinance approved

The Marshall City Council took a series of routine administrative actions, approving the meeting agenda and prior minutes, accepting two vendor bids for grounds services, and approving an appropriation ordinance by roll call vote.
The council adopted the agenda on a motion by Green and by voice vote approved the agenda. The council then moved to correct the special-session minutes of Feb. 24, 2025 and the regular minutes of March 4, 2025; the motion to accept the special-session minutes was moved by Kevin and carried by voice vote.
Bids: On March 7 the city opened bids for grounds mowing and fertilization/treatment services. The council accepted a single mowing bid from Quality Lawn Care at $195 per mowing for the City Office Building, the Martin Community Center and the municipal court; council members approved that recommendation by voice vote. The council also accepted a single bid for chemical lawn-fertilization and treatment from EZ Green at $1,350 and approved that award by voice vote.
Ordinance: The council considered "An ordinance making the appropriation for the payment of accounts out of the different city funds." The ordinance was read by title only and, after motion and second, passed on a roll-call vote. Council members voting yes included Allen, Swisher, Brandt, Cook, Green, Paprick, Guthrie and Thompson; the roll-call vote returned unanimous approval.
Other routine business included committee reports on police statistics and building permits. The council adjourned at the end of the session.
