The City Council approved two resolutions to support Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU): a purchase of property from Crescent Realty Corporation at 388 North Miami Avenue and a master services agreement naming Toth & Associates as an engineer of record.
City staff said MMU needs additional laydown area and access to run turbine leads for the Marshall Energy Center project and that the property purchase would provide room adjacent to an existing substation. The resolution authorizes MMU to execute a purchase-and-sale agreement for the building and adjacent lot.
The council also approved a master services agreement with Toth & Associates, Inc., to serve as an engineer of record for electric-side projects. Staff said the agreement does not create immediate cost unless services are requested; having an engineer of record will allow MMU to proceed quickly on project work without issuing an RFQ for each assignment.
Both resolutions passed on unanimous roll-call votes. During the vote on the property purchase, the clerk recorded "Yes" from Brant, Cook, Green, Paprik, Guthrie, Thompson, Allen and Swisher.
