Warrensburg agrees to temporary wastewater testing assistance for nearby Nob Noster

The Council adopted an ordinance authorizing the City of Warrensburg to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Nob Noster to provide temporary wastewater testing assistance.
"They requested help to perform some testing on their Lagoon wastewater system... they are willing to pay for the tests we run," Phil Adlidge, interim public works director, told the council during the May meeting, summarizing the proposed arrangement.
Adlidge said Warrensburg would receive samples from Nob Noster and perform analyses such as ammonia, E. coli and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) — "whatever they're permitted for, which is most of those things," he said — and then relay the results to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The agreement includes a provision allowing the Warrensburg city manager to terminate the arrangement if necessary.
Council moved the ordinance to adoption by a recorded voice vote (Osborne: yes; Latari: yes; Jones: yes; Euler: yes). No abstentions were recorded and one council member, Kushner, was not present for roll call earlier in the meeting.
Adlidge said the assistance was intended as temporary support while the Nob Noster utility staff reorganizes and that Nob Noster will cover testing costs.
Council did not discuss specific dollar amounts for testing during the meeting; the matter was presented and approved for adoption that night.
