Rolla council approves Highlands CID and multiple city contracts, awards construction bids

The council approved the Highlands CID petition, a financing district tied to the McBride Highlands subdivision off Highway 72, that staff said would support roughly $10 million in development with a $3.4 million CID assessment assessed to new homes. John, city staff member, told the council the CID assessment on new homes could range "from $500 to $800 per year in addition to the taxes that they'll pay." The ordinance cites Sections 67.1401 through 67.1571 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri as the legal basis for forming a CID.
