County approves airport lease, grant resolution and hangar expansion at Salida Airport

The board approved the resolution for the Colorado Division of Aeronautics discretionary grant and then voted to authorize a new ground lease for Hanger West LLC at site 84. Commissioners also approved an amendment allowing Nelson Amen of Amen Mountain Escapes LLC to add a 25-foot depth extension to his existing hangar; airport staff advised the addition will not compromise future facility growth.
Why it matters: the taxiway extension and related federal and state grants support aviation operations and may enable future funding-eligible improvements at the Salida Airport. The hangar amendment will allow an existing hangar tenant more room to store aircraft.
No votes against were recorded in the meeting minutes; the items were put forward by airport staff and approved by the board in voice votes.
