Tollway to receive about $11.86 million from IDOT for completed Route 22 bridge work; committee recommends board placement

General Counsel Kathleen presented one legal item to the committee: an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation related to previously completed work on the Illinois Route 22 Bridge.
Kathleen said the work included raising and widening the bridge to accommodate two 11‑foot‑wide through lanes in each direction with a variable‑width median, turn lanes, traffic signal modernization, retaining walls, storm sewer installation and construction of an 8‑foot‑wide path along Route 22. "IDOT has committed now to pay the Tollway $11,855,981.52 over 6 years with an attempt to complete the reimbursement within 4 years," Kathleen said.
A committee motion placed the legal item on the May board meeting agenda with the committee's recommendation; the motion carried by voice vote. Consideration of legal item 2 was deferred until after executive session.
