Committee approves repair work on two Rock Hollow bridges after inspection flagged undercutting

T Hill Construction — a contractor under the city’s annual maintenance contract — provided an estimate of just over $25,000 to repair the two structures. Vinich told the committee the funds are available in the park maintenance line.
Council Member Ramberg moved to proceed. “This is, clearly a safety issue. We have to do this,” Ramberg said on the floor. Committee members discussed repair methods: one member warned against a short-term “riprap only” approach and asked staff to confirm materials and methods; staff said they will incorporate boulders the contractor can source from a nearby project and would seek a durable solution aimed at preventing repeated erosion.
Action: Committee approved the repairs as outlined and authorized staff to proceed with T Hill Construction under the existing maintenance contract so the work can be completed and re-inspected.
