Deputy Chief Derek Hill explained that the ordinance would allow the Ozark Police Department to participate formally in the HIDTA task force and recover funds through the subaward to support the TFO position. “This allows us to recoup money back toward that salary,” Hill said, and he noted Ozark has been part of the regional task force and the HIDTA subaward arrangement since 2021.
No members of the public spoke for or against the ordinance during the hearing. The board held the item over for a future meeting and requested no additional information at this time.
