Board adopts election certification and a package of ordinances; mayor pro tem elected

The Ozark Board of Aldermen unanimously certified the results of the April 8 municipal election and read and enacted a slate of ordinances and resolutions during its meeting at Ozark City Hall.

Board procedure and context: The city attorney and city staff explained that agenda subitems listed as “1a/1b/1c” are historically grouped after the certification ordinance but are not part of that single ordinance. The board discussed whether those items should be listed differently on future agendas. At least two aldermen objected to the process used for committee appointments and the timing of notice for the mayor pro tem selection; those concerns were recorded in public remarks before the votes.

What’s next: Items held for further review will return to a future meeting for final action. The enacted ordinances take effect according to the city’s usual ordinance process and will be posted with the city clerk’s office.
