Garrison Springs Community Forest wins Missouri Municipal League 2025 innovation award

City Administrator Eric Johnson told the Board of Aldermen that Garrison Springs Community Forest received the Missouri Municipal League's 2025 Innovation Award in the large city category.
Johnson said the award recognizes the park's approach to environmental conservation, sustainable land management and public recreation, and that the park reopened to the public in August 2024 after renovations. He thanked parks staff and other employees who worked on the application and said the city will accept the award at the Missouri Municipal League fall conference in St. Louis.
Johnson also reminded the board that the week was Missouri Local Government Week and asked aldermen to acknowledge local government staff across departments.
