Commission advances memorial paver (brick) program for Village Green; staff to return with proofs, samples and pricing

The Celebrate Wildwood Commission reviewed staff recommendations for a memorial/commemorative paver program for Village Green and asked staff to return with color samples, proofs and proposed retail prices.

Staff said they have worked with a longtime supplier (GiftBricks) and that the supplier can produce 4×8, 8×8 and 8×16 pavers. Staff presented current Old Pond School sale prices (4×8 at $50; 8×16 at $200) and noted those sales are effectively not generating profit and are sold as a memorial program. Commissioners discussed whether to present an “all‑in” price to purchasers (a single bundled price rather than line‑iteming proof and shipping fees), and some members recommended modest initial margins (for example, a first‑year promotional price around a 10% commission) with the potential to increase later.

Commissioners asked staff to request physical color and texture samples (staff will seek Admiral full range and Regimental full range options) and to return with proof materials and recommended retail prices in April or May. Staff reported GiftBricks will provide sample pavers and that online ordering can collect proofs and payments while staff reviews inscriptions prior to production. The commission also discussed installation timing and whether bulk installation could reduce per‑unit costs; staff said installation lead time is typically about four weeks from production and that bulk orders could reduce installation costs.

Clarifying details: staff identified current Old Pond School sale prices (4×8 at $50; 8×16 at $200), said suppliers offer dedicated order portals that collect inscriptions and payment, and noted production and installation typically take several weeks; staff proposed offering all three sizes at Village Green.
