The Administration & Public Works Committee voted to ask Tyler Technologies (the acquirer of the myGov platform) for a written timeline and corrective action plan to resolve ongoing service and mobile‑app deficiencies, and to permit staff to explore and pursue alternative vendors if needed.
Chair Jared Farmer summarized the problem and the department’s evaluation: "we have a pretty cool tool," Farmer said, but the current myGov deployment lacks a usable mobile app and a front‑end that residents and field staff can use easily. Staff described how myGov handles permitting well but has proved clunky for public‑facing reporting, mobile field use, photo transfers, and streamlined work‑order generation.
Committee members noted the city’s prior investment and asked for a firm answer from Tyler Technologies about near‑term improvements. Committee member Marshall moved the motion and Vice Chair Lauren Edens seconded. The motion reads: staff will formally request from Tyler Technologies a written timeline and corrective action plan to address myGov issues and is further authorized to concurrently explore and initiate engagement with alternative vendors to ensure continuity of municipal operations; staff will report progress back to the committee.
Committee members asked staff to evaluate GovPilot, Cityworks, and Esri as potential alternatives and to test user interface and mobile workflows before recommending a replacement. The motion passed; committee members asked staff to return with vendor evaluations and recommended next steps.
