Committee members asked about procurement choices and why a van was selected rather than an SUV. Staff said the department needs cargo and passenger capacity that a van provides and that van availability (and preference for U.S.-manufactured models) limited options. The department confirmed standard city procedures will be used to sell or dispose of the existing vehicle.
A motion to purchase the van was made and seconded during the meeting and passed by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. Staff will proceed with the purchase using the 2025 capital fund allocation.
