The summary identified several areas of alignment among outgoing council members: environmental preservation of Wildwood’s green spaces and trail systems; stewardship and maintenance of parks rather than building additional park acreage without maintenance funding; transparency and ethical governance; and a master‑plan‑guided approach to growth and any town‑center development.
Staff noted the summary was compiled from individual, anonymous responses and framed as a starting point for the new council. The committee discussed funding mechanisms and the history of prior park‑related ballot measures, including a past effort to acquire a community park and a sales‑tax idea for stormwater and park maintenance that was discussed but did not pass.
Committee members suggested next steps include publishing the mission and vision on the city website as part of a larger website refresh and bringing the finalized statements to the full council for resolution after the new members take office. The committee voted to postpone formal adoption for 60 days so incoming councilors can review and provide input.
