Dunkirk council approves field and loudspeaker permits for First Ward Falcons tournaments

Council approval covers requests from Tim Dobias, representing the First Ward Falcons, to use Promenchankle Stadium and School 7 softball fields on May 10, 2024, and to use Promenchankle Stadium, School 7 and Cook’s Softball Fields July 18–20, 2025, including a separate loudspeaker permit for the July tournament. Each request was approved with a motion to refer to the appropriate city departments and subject to insurance and usual conditions.
The council recorded the motions and roll-call votes for each permit. Council member Nichols moved and Council member Laskowiak seconded the May 10, 2024, field-use motion; the roll call was unanimous. The July 18–20, 2025, field-use motion was moved by Nichols and seconded by Laskowiak and passed by the same unanimous roll call. The loudspeaker permit for July 18–20 was moved by Council member Laskowiak, seconded by Council member Nichols, and also carried unanimously.
The motions direct staff to refer the permits to the appropriate departments to confirm insurance and standard conditions before issuance. No council member raised objections during the consideration of these permit requests.
The approvals allow the First Ward Falcons to proceed with planning for the events but require the organization to satisfy the city’s insurance and departmental requirements before final authorization.
