Commissioners authorize bid process for courthouse and law enforcement center roof projects

Commissioners confirmed funds were previously assigned for the projects and noted that, if bids come in within budget, a public hearing would be required to release the funds and award a contract.
Commissioner Leggett moved to advertise for bids; the motion carried on a voice vote. Staff estimated the combined projects could come in in a range around several hundred thousand up to about $1 million, depending on bids and material choices.
Next steps: County staff will proceed with advertisement and bidding; contract award and fund release will be subject to a future public hearing and final approval by the board.
