City reports progress on two digital highway signs; one on-site awaiting installation

Ingleside — City staff updated the council on the status of two digital highway signs: one sign has been delivered and is on site awaiting contractor installation; the second sign is still in production and site wiring is prepared.
Public works staff said the sign intended for the H Street easement near Highway 1069 has had power and conduit work run back to the police department electrical panel so the sign will remain lit if municipal power is lost and the police department's generator engages. The delivered sign awaits contractor arrival to pour a concrete pad, set the base and perform the final electrical hookup; staff said they are coordinating with the installer and have notified the contractor that installation can proceed when weather permits.
The second sign at N.O. Simmons is in production. Conduit and breaker locations are in place for that site; staff said they have awarded the electrician contract to run final wiring once the sign is delivered and installed.
Council members asked whether the installer had been notified; staff said they are in contact with the supplier and continue to urge prompt installation.
