"My suggestion is...we sell the land or call it a dollar and an agreement that they invest, say, the $5,000 that they originally offered into beautifying the land," Adam Black, a resident, told the council. He said the trade-off would ensure the parcel is brought up to acceptable condition and yield a public benefit commensurate with the small amount involved.
Council members and staff responded that discussions were ongoing and that one council member (Madeline) had recused herself from the matter; staff said this was a work-session discussion and that formal responses are handled during regular meetings or when negotiations conclude. No formal action was taken during the work session.
