The Kennesaw Mayor and Council postponed consideration of an abandonment of right-of-way resolution affecting 2995 and 2997 Main Street and directed City staff to continue negotiations before bringing the matter back to the council.
During the meeting the council entered a closed session "as allowed by OCGA 50-14-2 and 50-14-3(b) pursuant to advice by the City Attorney for the purpose of discussing land." A motion in open session later directed the presiding officer to execute an affidavit in compliance with OCGA 50-14-4 and ratified the council actions taken in closed session; the council vote in open session ratifying the closed session actions was recorded as 4–0 with one recusal.
Councilmembers asked staff to continue negotiations on the right-of-way matter and report back; the matter will remain on the agenda pending staff follow-up.
