Beau Weber, an attorney representing GWR/Gainesville Landfill LLC, told the council the application seeks annexation of an existing C&D landfill and the addition of roughly 20 acres for a composting area; he emphasized the proposal does not seek approval to accept municipal solid waste (household garbage) and that all landfill and composting activities remain subject to Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) permitting and oversight.
