Panel approves purchase of furniture for South Police substation from Pure Workplace Solutions

The committee voted to approve Bill 25‑095, authorizing the purchase and installation of office furniture and furnishings for the South Police substation using a cooperative purchasing agreement. "This is a request for purchase, for the furniture for the South Substation. This budget's it's already been authorized," Deputy Chief John Bunker told the committee when staff presented the item.
Bunker said staff plans to use the OMNIA Partners cooperative purchasing agreement and Pure Workplace Solutions, a vendor the department has used previously, to keep consistency with existing department and court office furniture. The motion to approve the committee action letter and the ordinance passed on roll call; Chair Prior, Council Member Funk and Council Member Reeder recorded "Aye" during the vote and staff announced that the motion passed.
Members asked when the substation would start operating; Bunker said the schedule slipped about six weeks because of groundwater issues, but staff still expects occupancy in July, "in advance of the school season starting." The committee did not amend the ordinance and no additional conditions were placed on the purchase.
The purchase was presented as part of an already-budgeted project and will proceed under the cooperative contract and the city manager's authorization for execution of required documents.
