Residents and council members said the issue began after the street was repaved and that water now regularly runs over the apron into foundations and yards.
Staff reported a three-phase remedy and provided an approximate cost estimate of about $6,700 to correct conveyance and apron elevations. The estimate included excavation and repair work for the driveway approaches and related curb work; a lower-cost option—replacing only the apron material with blacktop rather than a full concrete approach—was discussed as a possible mitigation.
Members expressed concern about setting a precedent for piecemeal street fixes after mill-and-pave projects and asked the public-works director to inspect the site and confirm whether conveyance correction alone would address the problem. The committee asked staff to share the engineering email that contained the estimate and to prepare a purchase-order request if DPW recommends moving forward with a limited conveyance fix rather than a full apron replacement.
