Clary explained a city vehicle was totaled after being struck; the insurance payment was $11,902.40 and the replacement vehicle totals approximately $31,000. The requested amendment covers the remaining balance. The committee voted to approve the chamberlain’s authority to make the budget adjustment.
The Department of Public Works sought authorization for the city chamberlain to advance $180,000 in Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) funds to buy a skid steer (40‑inch width), a cold‑planing asphalt milling head and a mini paver attachment. Commissioner Greg Rebbior (Commissioner of Public Works and Parks and Recreation) asked that the equipment purchase be authorized so DPW crews can repair streets, potholes and cracked areas and reduce labor hours; the department expected delivery by May if approved. Committee members recorded their approval by roll call.
Finally, the committee accepted a low bid from Rombauer Electric for miscellaneous electrical services for the city. Staff said the contract was rebid to ensure continuity; Rombauer Electric was the low bidder and Scribe Electric will serve as an alternate if Rombauer cannot respond in a timely manner. The committee approved awarding the contract to Rombauer Electric as the low bidder.
All three items were approved by roll call; councilors present recorded affirmative votes. The approvals authorize staff to proceed with procurement and budgeting steps and assign follow-up tasks to the chamberlain and DPW for implementation.
