Latoya, a county staff member, told the board staff needs authorization to schedule and advertise a public hearing to initiate condemnation and/or quick-take proceedings for a road project in Wilderness Shores because about five properties have not settled on required right-of-way easements. The hearing was scheduled for May 27 during the 5:00 p.m. agenda.
Latoya said the hearing is needed "in order to keep that project moving forward." The board indicated no objection and staff proceeded to advertise the hearing; no formal motion or roll-call vote was recorded in the transcript.
The board did not discuss parcel owners by name in the transcript; staff indicated the number of affected properties as "about 5" and said the public hearing will be authorized and advertised to meet project timelines.
