The Oldsmar City Council on Feb. 4 appointed new members to two advisory boards.
Veterans Advisory Board: The council appointed retired Lt. Col. Jeff Reed as a regular member and Lou Courteaux as an alternate member. Reed introduced himself at the meeting, describing 28 years of Army service and volunteer interest; the council approved the appointments by voice vote.
Code Enforcement Board: The council interviewed four applicants for one regular seat (term to March 1, 2028) and two alternate seats (terms expiring Aug. 17, 2025). After private ballots, the council selected Mike Carroll as the regular member (4 votes to Ralph Richardson’s 1 vote). For the two alternate seats, the council selected Ralph Richardson (5 votes) and Cheryl Florko (3 votes); Steven Phillips received 2 votes in the alternate tally. Garcia, the city clerk, announced the counts on the record.
All new appointees were invited to onboarding; the chairman of the code enforcement committee noted the board’s next meeting is March 6 at 4 p.m.
No appeals or objections to the selections were recorded during the Feb. 4 meeting.
