Upper Tampa Bay Chamber reports midyear progress on Oldsmar business assistance program

Jason Sanders of the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce gave a midyear update on April 15 about the chamber’s Business Assistance Partnership with Oldsmar.
Sanders summarized program goals: to support the city’s economic-development strategy, identify common business challenges, assist expansion and recruitment, collaborate with neighboring communities and support city marketing efforts. He highlighted “We Mean Business” visits that take city staff and elected officials to local employers, a recent visit to Osgood Industries that included county representatives, and ongoing hurricane-relief and business-sustainability activities.
Sanders said the chamber coordinates ribbon cuttings and welcome events for new businesses and helps companies locate funding programs and available property. He told the council the chamber will continue to track available industrial and commercial space, assist businesses with employment-site programs and support Douglas Road grant efforts.
Council members thanked the chamber for outreach and noted the positive response to recent ribbon cuttings and the Martin’s store opening.
